No hiding from the ferrets
BOB Cheek had never set foot in Parliament House in Hobart until he was elected as a Liberal member for the House of Assembly and went on to lead the opposition.
Today, he wishes he had never allowed himself to be convinced that an individual with a strong business ethic could make a change.
Next Tuesday, a generation of Liberal politicians and powerbrokers will share his concern when he launches Cheeky: Confessions of a Ferret Salesman, a startlingly honest account of life behind the scenes of Australian politics.

“This is not the Latham Diaries; I’m not taking shots at people,” he said.
“It’s about my life and my time in politics. There’s no innuendo or rumour. It all happened; it is all verifiable. I’m not going to be intimidated.”
