Paul and the Gov
THE essence of the Latham claims, quoted from the book by Opposition Leader Rene Hidding in State Parliament today (Wednesday), is that Premier Paul Lennon told Mr Latham that the real reason Governor Butler had to go, was that Governor Butler had “got pissed” at the Royal wedding in Denmark; and was an embarrassment.
He therefore was an embarrassment to the “good name of Tasmania”.
Mr Lennon’s response: Latham’s version is denied. He did not sack Governor Butler. Latham is bitter and twisted: “I did what was right by the people of Tasmania.”
Of course the question begging to be asked is … did the Government itself generate and drip feed to the media details of the Gov’s perambulations and alleged indiscretions …
