The Australian Government has passed Legislation to repeal the Carbon Tax, to take effect from 1 July 2014.
I am writing to let you know how this impacts you as an Aurora Energy residential or small business customer on standing offer electricity prices from 1 July 2014 to 30 June 2015.
The repeal of the Carbon Tax provides an average estimated annual percentage saving of 9.4 per cent for residential and small business customers on standing offer electricity prices.
Will the Carbon Tax change your electricity price?
On 1 July 2014, Aurora Energy’s standing offer electricity prices reduced by 7.8 per cent as approved by the Tasmanian Economic Regulator. This price reduction included the estimated carbon tax removal saving of 9.4 per cent, which was then partially offset by increases in other supply costs. This means there will be no further price change relating to the repeal of the carbon tax applicable from 1 July 2014 to 30 June 2015.
