Liberals’ Jurassic era energy policy will cost Tasmania
Does Energy Minister Guy Barnett support a clean energy target?
Liberal energy policy abandons Tasmania’s renewable energy future
Will Guy Barnett back in Tasmania or Tony Abbott?
Malcolm Turnbull’s new half-baked energy policy is a dud deal for Tasmania.
“The National Energy Guarantee sacrifices hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars’ worth of investment in Tasmanian renewable energy,” Shadow Energy Minister Scott Bacon said.
“In return, Mr Turnbull has given only a vague commitment to reducing power bills by 50 cents a week – and even that can’t be guaranteed.
“Projects like the Robbins Island wind farm and even a second interconnector are now under a serious cloud.
“The new Energy Minister, Guy Barnett, promised to put Tasmania first but when given the opportunity to denounce the Federal policy today he spectacularly failed.
“We have an absurd situation where the Minister cannot even state whether he supports a clean energy target.
“Will Guy Barnett keep his promise to put Tasmania first or will he instead put Tony Abbott and the dinosaurs in the Liberal Party first?”
