Election Law Society President
Hobart Lawyer Will Justo has been elected as President of the Law Society of Tasmania at the meeting of the Society’s Council held on Saturday 21 October.
Mr Justo has been a Partner of Wallace Wilkinson and Webster since 2005. After graduating from the University of Tasmania he was admitted to the roll of Practitioners in 1995 and practices primarily in Property, Commercial Law and Wills and Estates.
Mr Justo has been a member of the Council of the Law Society of Tasmania for four (4) years and has served as Society Vice President and Treasurer. He is also an active member of the Property and Commercial Law Committee of the Society, having previously chaired the same and was one of the principal draftspersons of the recently updated Law Society of Tasmania/REIT Standard Form Contract for the sale of real estate.
Mr Justo will prioritise advocacy on behalf of the profession; providing support and services to the profession; access to justice and the retention of judicial discretion (especially with respect to sentencing).
