StandWithME campaign to give platform to pro-equality messages

Posted on

Marriage equality supporters have a new way to reach out to other Australians and urge them to vote YES in the upcoming postal vote.

LGBTI advocacy group, just.equal, has launched standwithme.org.au, a new platform that allows everyday Australians to have a wide audience for their pro-equality messages.

Marriage equality supporters simply upload their message of support to the site and their message will be shared on a range of social media platforms.

Just.equal spokesperson, Ivan Hinton-Teoh, said,

“The #StandWithME campaign gives the 70% of Australians who support marriage equality an unprecedented platform to directly contribute to the YES campaign.”

“Our aim is to make is easy for everyday Australians to communicate their support for LGBTI Australians and to explain how marriage equality will make Australia a better place”

“Supporters can use their iPhone to film a simple message. It can be 30 seconds, or as long as they like. They don’t need to worry about editing. They just upload it to the website and we will broadcast it.”

“The two most important things right now are community and communication. Both will save lives and help win the YES vote.”
