Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party Tasmania aiming to be voice within government
The recent announcement by the “Recreational Fishers Party” on their deregistration should not be confused with the “Shooters Fishers & Farmers Party” who are registered in Tasmania, and will be contesting the next election.
SFFP Tasmania acting chair Ken Orr said, “Providing Tasmanian recreational and commercial fishers with a real voice, by real people, is at our very core”.
The Shooters Fishers & Farmers Party is a long standing national party, with 6 members in Parliament around the country, and 1 in Federal Parliament and
while being a branch of a National Party, we are very much focused on Tasmania, and its local issues Orr said.
He went on to say “for too long, successive State Governments have played lip service to our state’s biosecurity needs, risking both our freshwater and saltwater fisheries, as salmon and shellfish diseases risk our aquatic environment and everything in it.”
We want change Orr said, and SFFP Tasmania want to facilitate change from the inside, not lobbying from the outside, where genuine concerns are not listened to by this government or its predecessors. Macquarie Harbour, seal predation, Okehampton Bay, blueberry rust, feral cats, rural health and policing, the list goes on, and we want to be your voice in parliament.
