Dry conditions cause for concern

Posted on

The Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association (TFGA) is concerned that landholders in the State’s Southern Midlands and East Coast are currently experiencing extremely dry conditions.

“We continue to work closely with the Government to monitor the weather outcomes in all areas of the State and take appropriate action when conditions dictate’’ TFGA CEO Peter Skillern said.

“If Spring rains do not occur to bring relief to Southern and Eastern parts of the State, then we will need to seek assistance for affected farmers.

“It is disappointing and concerning that, less than two years since the last drought, we find ourselves once again confronted with the very real possibility that farmers will be asked to endure another dry season.”
