Launceston Marathon announces naming rights sponsor

Posted on

Launceston Marathon is pleased to announce St.LukesHealth as their naming rights sponsor for the 2017 event.
The inaugural event, to be held on Sunday, 24 September will include marathon, half-marathon and quarter-marathon events around a 10.5 kilometre loop in Inveresk.
Race director John Claridge said the organisers are looking forward to what the partnership will bring to the event and believe it is a perfect fit.
“The aim of the St.LukesHealth Launceston Marathon is to make it accessible for everyone. There will be no time cut-offs on the day and participants can choose to run or walk the event,” Mr Claridge said.
“The event will also have a family friendly focus, with children’s activities on the day and plenty of areas for family members to cheer on competitors.
Grayson Genders, Manager Brand and Marketing for St.LukesHealth said the sponsorship of the marathon aligns with the not-for-profit’s strategy of helping the community stay healthy, get well and live better.
“St.LukesHealth is looking forward to supporting a local event in its inaugural year, and continuing to build the partnership within the local community,” Mr Genders said.
Event organisers are hoping to attract about 500 entries for the event’s first year, with registrations now open.
