Voting is now open for the 2016 Innovative Tasmania awards. All 66 entries are online and voting for the Innovative Tasmania Awards is now live at https://www.bofa.com.au/innovation-awards/ as is the booking for the Awards presentations in Hobart on 27 October, where Michael Malone, founder of iiNet and serial innovator, is the key note speaker. See https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/2016-innovative-tasmania-awards-tickets-27210982782.

Owen Tilbury, Director of the Innovative Tasmania Awards, said: ” We are delighted that there are over double the number of entries in this year’s Innovative Tasmania Awards. The range and quality of entry really highlights how innovative Tasmanians are. Now is the time for Tasmanians to vote on the ones they think are the best in the 11 categories. With amazing innovations in categories covering young innovators to product, service, technology, start ups, community and government innovations, the voting is a fascinating chance to see what innovative Tasmanians are creating.”

Voting is as follows:

1. There are 11 categories, each numbered on the website. Voters can vote in one category, many or all. It’s free and easy. Simply click on the tab that matches the specific award (eg tab 06 takes you to the Innovative Community Award) read the 120 word description and click on READ MORE if more details are wanted.
2. Once voters have read all the innovations in that category they just vote for the BEST one in that category by using the survey at the bottom.
3. Voters can vote in one session or come back when time allows. But they can only cast one vote per category. All entries will be reviewed and multiple entries from one person will be disqualified.
4. Voting closes September 30. Winners are announced on 27 October at the Wrest Point presentations (6 – 8.30pm).

Each winner receives a 2 minute video vignette of their innovation which will be broadcast on Southern Cross News (value $4,500) plus a trophy, certificate and laurels.

Prizes will be awarded at Wrest Point, Hobart in Hobart on Thursday 278th October, 2016.
