Savages cancel Australian tour, Dark Mofo replacement announced

British rockers Savages have this morning announced a cancellation of their Australian national tour this month due to unforeseen circumstances. The band will not be performing in Hobart for their sold-out Dark Mofo show on Saturday 18 June 2016.

Festival Creative Director Leigh Carmichael said:

“We are extremely disappointed by the last minute cancellation of Savages Australian tour. 68 per cent of tickets to this sold out show are from interstate, so we are going to have some extremely dismayed patrons. While we know this announcement is going to be discouraging for ticket holders, for those heading to Hobart this week we say ‘don’t let the f*#kers get you down.’

“Savages will leave a curatorial hole in the overall festival experience that is impossible to replace. However, our team has worked tirelessly for the past 24 hours, to find a replacement and we are excited to announce that joining the festival, will be much-loved, rarely seen in the wild, Melbourne rockers Eddy Current Suppression Ring, supported by psych-rock collective King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard, and multi-instrumentalist JP Shilo, founding member of Hungry Ghosts.”

Ticket holders for Savages at Dark Mofo will be contacted by Mona Ticket Support today.
