Mayhem & Me are a three piece alternate, dark folk act with songs ranging from slow, picking laments to upbeat folk rock.
Hailing from Hobart Town, Mayhem & Me originated from the songwriting of Majella Eales. Fleshing out this folky sound on lead guitar is Paul Carwana and bassist Jeff Reeve. Mayhem & Me have been compared to the sounds of Joy Division and Deborah Conway, melding bass-driven melodic textures and catchy rhythms.
With the release of their first demo in November 2013, Mayhem & Me have enjoyed regular airplay on Hobart’s local community radio station, Edge Radio. They have also been featured on 3RRR’s “Punk Show” in 2014.
Mayhem & Me gigged extensively around Hobart in 2014, playing venues such as The Republic, The Brisbane Hotel, The Night Owl, The UniBar, The Brunswick Hotel and The Coal Valley Winery. Positive feedback from audiences has resulted in several of these venues requesting repeat performances from the band.
Mayhem & Me will be using their first appearance at Moonah Arts Centre to release their debut EP
