Executive Director bids farewell to Tasmania
Ten Days Executive Director and Producer Marcus Barker has announced his departure to take up a
position at the Sydney International Piano Competition in New South Wales.
Ten Days Chairman Scott Dawkins paid tribute to the considerable role Mr Barker had played since
starting with Ten Days on the Island in 2007 in making the festival such a resounding success.
“The Board is excited for the new challenges ahead for Marcus and acknowledges the contribution he has
made to the organisation and Tasmania in his time with the festival,” Mr Dawkins said.
Marcus Barker said he took great pride in his time with the festival.
“I am proud of the festival and its achievements,” Mr Barker said.
“It is a festival which provides inestimable creative opportunities for Tasmanian arts, artists and
audiences.
“I am very proud of my achievements at Ten Days, but after almost a decade with the organisation, I felt
the time was right for me to look at other opportunities and allow a new leader to take the reins and
continue to drive the organisation into the next phase of its development.”
