Republic: Christopher Coleman Collective release new single ‘Just Like A Needle’ + tour
It has been 448 days since the Christopher Coleman Collective launched their debut album on 13 March 2014 in the Spiegeltent as part of Ten Days on the Island. On 24 July at the Republic Bar it will have been 499 days since the charismatic folk group has performed to their hometown supporters who made that night in the Spiegeltent a memorable sold out affair. Hobart provided the launching pad that would see Coleman and his Collective experience many firsts – national tours, sold out shows around the country and international tours to New Zealand and USA.
Plus performances at Port Fairy Folk Festival, Queenscliff Folk Festival, Tamworth Music Festival, Americana Music Festival and the National Folk Festival to name only a few.
With the summer to recharge and a bunch of new tunes, the Christopher Coleman Collective are eager to perform in their hometown and launch their new single ‘Just Like A Needle’.
Recorded in a barn in the south of Sweden, where Coleman was mixing the Collective’s debut album, the four verse, no chorus track meanders through Coleman’s complex thoughts and emotions, playing out like a stream of consciousness; a dream state.
