Screen Tasmania Director
The Director of Screen Tasmania Karena Slaninka will step down from her role today (Fri) after eight years in the position.
Ms Slaninka has made a significant contribution to Screen Tasmania, the state’s screen funding agency.
Tasmania’s screen industry is enjoying extraordinary growth and opportunity and Karena has played an important role in helping achieve this.
In recent years, the industry has seen unprecedented growth and investment including in television drama series, digital media and the development of local skills and stories.
The boost to Tasmania’s profile is driving increasing interest from major national and international producers such as Dreamworks Studios, Scott Free Productions, Beyond International, and Porchlight Films.
Karena is stepping down from the role to join her family in Adelaide. I thank Karena sincerely for her work and wish her well for the future.
