Roll up, roll up – the Spiegeltent is in town!
Presented by Ten Days in association with Strut & Fret
A tent of mirrors, adorned with ornate velvet, canvas and leaded glass will arise from Hobart’s waterfront
to bowl Tasmanian audiences over, with 18 jam packed days filled with world-renowned cabaret and
burlesque performances, circus acrobatics, side-splitting comedy, family fun and the very best of
Australian and international musical talent from 6-23 March.
Ten Days Executive Director and Producer Marcus Barker said the Spiegeltent experience and the wide
array of performances on offer inside the tent, as well as the sumptuous Outdoor Lounge, was an
experience not to be missed.
“The internationally-renowned Spiegeltent, proudly presented by Ten Days, will be nearing the final
stages of construction on the forecourt of PW1 and will play host to 33 local, national, and international
shows with over 140 artists set to grace the stage,” Mr Barker said.
“Kicking off the Spiegeltent program in style is a free community opening extravaganza on Thursday, 6
March on-site from 5pm, featuring roving entertainment from giant dinosaur puppets, illusionists and fire
breathers as well as musical entertainment and a sneak peak from headline act Cantina.
“The diverse program of performances on offer ranges from the internationally-acclaimed headline acts
Cantina and La Soirée as well as two of Australia’s favourite stand-up comedians Frank Woodley and Tom
Gleeson, alongside suitably eccentric British cult musical group The Tiger Lillies as well as contemporary
Scottish folk band Breabach and the most loved children’s songwriter in Australian history, Peter Combe.”
