Pro-logging campaigner to be pursued for costs

Posted on

A Claremont woman has failed in a bid to seek a restraint order against a Launceston businessman.

The Hobart Magistrates’ Court today dismissed Kelly Wilton’s application for the order against financial analyst Tom Ellison, with Magistrate Hill saying she had failed to provide evidence to support her claims.

In an affidavit lodged with the Court, Mr Ellison said he had made a number of reports against Kelly Wilton to Facebook, over her ‘Support Tasmania’s Timber Industry’ Facebook page.

Mr Ellison said the matter would return to Court next year, with Ms Wilton being pursued for ‘significant damages’ for defamation.
