The TFS site search still sucks

I noticed the government praising itself again – see article MILLIONS VIEW TFS WEBSITE – but the TFS site search still sucks.

Pretty important really – I had relatives at Connellys Marsh and was looking for information during the fires, but the site search drew a blank.

I emailed the TFS at the time but obviously they haven’t fixed it.

THE stats are in — the Tasmania Fire Service’s website received a massive 9.8 million page views last month.

TFS chief Mike Brown says the website has allowed the fire service to provide information to a huge audience. Emails are even being received regularly from overseas.

But with the success comes responsibility with everyone from the media to police directing people to www.fire. tas.gov.au for the latest warnings during the potentially deadly bushfires that have destroyed properties.

“The website is only one tool and it’s crucial people download templates for bushfire survival plans and have a plan in place,” Mr Brown said.
