Reforms to aerial and ground spraying regulations
The Minisiter for Primary Industries and Water Bryan Green is seeking more time for the Legislative Council to consider reforms to aerial and ground spray regulations before debating the legislation.
Mr Green said debate on the Agricultural and Veterinary Chemical (Control of Use) Amendment Bill 2011 was due to resume in the Legislative Council.
“I have asked for debate on the Bill to be deferred to give the Legislative Council the opportunity to be fully briefed by the Agricultural, Silvicultural and Veterinary Chemical Council,” Mr Green said.
Mr Green said he also wanted to consider further feedback from industry.
“Consultation with all key stakeholders and taking account of community concerns is an important part of the process,” Mr Green said.
Mr Green said current regulations would apply until new legislation was passed.
