To the Meander Valley Council Mayor and All Councillors
Dear Councillors,
We note that Meander Valley Council’s 28th February 2012 Special Meeting has been called ostensibly to “Discuss the Meander Valley Draft Interim Planning Scheme 2011”. Only when one comes to the end of the agenda does one find out that it is proposed decisions be made.
Not merely a discussion.
Almost immediately the Devel 1 briefing report gets bogged down over the “Regional Model planning scheme provisions” which have been amended following feedback from the Tasmanian Planning Commission (TPC). That feedback is referred to in this Devel 1 report, authored by Senior Planner Jo Oliver. It seems this feedback document has been closeted.
Only the privileged few have seen it. For the rest, we must satisfy ourselves with a third party interpretation of the TPC’s recommendations.
