Tasmanian Conservation Trust appoints new Biodiversity Campaigner
The Tasmanian Conservation Trust has recently appointed Jennifer Rowallan as its Biodiversity Campaigner, taking responsibility for implementing the TCT’s wildlife and reserve management campaigns.
Jennifer Rowallan will be the TCT’s media spokesperson on the following issues (among others):
– management of recreational vehicles in the Arthur-Pieman Conservation Area
– revision of the Wellington Park Management Plan
– ending recreational seasons for native ducks, wallabies, quails and shearwaters
– banning use of 1080 poison for controlling native browsing animals
– encouraging humane control of native browsing animals
– roadkill of wildlife
– encouraging living with wildlife including responsible domestic pet ownership
Jennifer Rowallan (nee Beer) was previously the Executive Officer at Against Animal Cruelty Tasmania.
Jennifer Rowallan and TCT Director Peter McGlone will attend the Sustainable Living Expo this Saturday and Sunday; stall number 15. They will also speak each day at the Expo on the following topics:
– Jennifer Rowallan – ‘Living with Wildlife’: Sat 3.30pm, Sun 1.00pm
– Peter McGlone – ‘Firewood: are you burning their homes to warm yours?’: Sat 3.45pm, Sun 1.15pm
