Integrity CEO quits
TASMANIAN Integrity Commission CEO Barbara Etter has quit after just over a year in the job.
Ms Etter had elected to terminate her $173,000 a year contract after a month’s leave an would not be returning to office, the Commission said in a statement.
No reason was given for her decision and Ms Etter could not be reached for comment.
Chief Commissioner and Integrity Commission Board Chair Murray Kellam said the commission would continue its work as normal.
“On behalf of the Board, I have briefed the Premier, Lara Giddings MP, and the Chair of the Parliamentary Joint Standing Committee on Integrity, Hon Jim Wilkinson MLC,” he said.
“The Board of the Commission understands that a new CEO will be recruited in due course.”
A spokeswoman for the commission said no further comment would be made.
Ms Etter is a former West Australian assistant police commissioner.
