Nigel Hope and Friends
Moonah Arts Centre’s popular Friday Night Concert Series continues on Friday September 16, with an evening dedicated to the bass guitar.
Yes acclaimed bassist Nigel Hope is back with a sextet of bass players to take you on a journey through the outer reaches of the bass, in all its many varied forms and sounds.
The show will now consist of 6 bass players Hamish Houston, Bob Tolputt, Oscar Neyland, Carlos Pashev, Nick Haywood and Nigel himself.
The show will feature all players in a solo setting, as two trio’s and playing as a full sextet.
Nigel Hope is one of Tasmania’s most in demand bass players, doing things on the bass that most people can only aspire to. From laying down Jazz, Blues, Funk and world grooves as a sideman to playing his 6 string bass with a capo, slide and delay to create inspired sound scapes, Nigel is the first Tasmanian bass player to release a CD as a leader and continues to produce quality recordings.
Join Nigel Hope and Friends this Friday for a unique live concert.
