Big Dick turns on Barty (worst Prem) and Airdy (worst Treas)
A long-standing Tasmanian Labor politician has turned on the state party, saying its economic management has left the state in a mess.
The Federal Member for Lyons, Dick Adams, has slammed the performance of former Tasmanian Premier David Bartlett and former Treasurer Michael Aird, saying they were the worst the state has seen.
He accused them of not understanding their roles.
His comments come ahead of this weekend’s ALP state conference.
Mr Adams says there is growing discontent within state Labor ranks.
“I thought they both performed very badly; I thought Michael Aird was probably the worst treasurer that Tasmania has ever had and I think Mr Bartlett was probably the worst Labor premier that Tasmania has ever had,” he said.
“I don’t think they had any real knowledge of what Tasmania is about and I think they’ve left us in a mess.
