ParanVille development on track

Posted on

Contrary to recent reports, the proposed ParanVille development at Pass Road, Rokeby, has not failed!

Rather it has moved on to the next stage.

By a majority vote, Clarence Council resolved to take the proposed rezoniong to community consultation.

The multi-million dollar development will not be a Korean enclave as its integration with Clarendon Vale and other major developments in the area, means that land will be available to anyone seeking to build a house in this progressive area.

Last night, Clarence Council voted to consult the community on the proposal which means that, subject to community input and the approval of the Planning Commission, the multimillion dollar development will proceed.

The motion to initiate the amendment to the Planning Scheme was moved by Alderman Tony Mulder, seconded by Alderman Cooper and supported by Mayor Campbell, Deputy Mayor Chipman and Aldermen Chong, Cusick, McMannus and Traynor.

In the debate, Ald Mulder noted that, despite the forecasts of economic hard times and a slowing economy, it was private enterprise that was giving the community a ‘hand up, rather than a government ‘hand-out’.

Together with the approval of major extensions to Eastlands, private enterprise continues to make the Eastern Shore the engine room of progress and employment.
