Some quotes from the Examiner include:
In its draft report released yesterday, the commission concluded that the economic benefits from Walker Corporation’s proposed luxury development were “overwhelmingly outweighed” by negative environmental, social and visual impacts.

And then the ABC report produced:

The report outlines concerns about the effects on birdlife and the spotted handfish, along with the effect on the local community of the noise, dust and odour which would be generated during construction.

It says the visual impact would be significantly detrimental and the Walker Corporation’s planned measures to offset the environmental damage were not enough to allay concerns.

The report describes the proposal as an “inherently unsustainable approach” to satisfying the need for residential land.

Cassy O’Connor is also quoted …

“This should also send out the right message to prospective developers in Tasmania,” she said.”Come up with good, sustainable, genuinely 21st century developments, don’t treat the locals with contempt and you are better placed to succeed.”
