RUSSELL LANGFIELD, Re: “Gunns is not turning a blind eye” July 10 TT

And how is the Department of Tourism, Parks and Heritage responsible for the management of the reserve when this Department has basically now been dissolved?

As “the principle neighbour” and touting your company’s leadership in sustainability and conservation so boldly on your website’s homepage, and also having the contacts and resources at your disposal, I believe it would be more realistic, responsible and effective for your company to take the major role to assist the curbing of these activities as my enquiries are seemingly shovelled off the FPA’s and Labor Government’s desks into the waste paper basket, because nothing has been done and the activities continue. I would prefer to see your company take a more physical and meaningful role in contributing to the cessation of the activities, as for me to do so would be trespassing, but thankyou for your written encouragement and support.

In addition I did not infer Gunns were turning a blind eye to the illegal activities, which were occurring specifically in the Conservation Reserve, at all. In the first paragraph I stated that I was “informing you” of the activities, if you were not already aware, and the rest was to enquire to the extent of your current knowledge of the situation and asking for assistance.

Regards,
Russell Langfield.
