Deputy Labor Leader Michelle O’Byrne said the creation of a new position to manage the rollout of infrastructure spending in the North highlights that the new Coordinator General is not up to the job

“The Treasurer Peter Gutwein gave the responsibility to the Coordinator General, but it obviously isn’t working and someone better is needed to get the job done,” Ms Obyrne said.

“What is the Coordinator General himself actually doing?

“The office was established to attract national and international investment to Tasmania, but the Coordinator General has not delivered a single job.

“Now after Mr Gutwein gave responsibility to the Coordinator General for the Northern infrastructure spending he has had to find someone else for the job.”

“The establishment of the Coordinator General’s office in Launceston was a half baked election promise that has been plagued by resourcing issues and delivered nothing.”
