Seven year old Hamish Willis of Kingston Beach is travelling to Mt Hotham to make snow angels and ride
on a husky led snow sled.
Hamish and his family will be flying out on the 18th August to have his one true cherished wish granted
by Make-A-Wish Australia. Mum, Jodie Willis, said that he hasn’t stopped talking about it since the
Hobart volunteer wish team visited a few months ago.
“Hamish is a fairly shy little boy but since Allana and Michelle came to visit a few months ago he hasn’t
stopped talking about his wish. They presented him with a wish coin at the first visit and he hasn’t let it
out of his sight. It hangs above his bed every night” Jodie said.
Hamish was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and has been through a number of
gruelling operations over the past few years. This wish will be a chance for the whole family to recharge
and spend some quality time together.
Hamish’s grandmother will also go on the family holiday. “Mum has just been such a rock for us over
the past few years, we couldn’t have got through this without the support of all of our amazing family
and friends” said Jodie.
Hamish will be presented with his wish by the Hobart branch of Make-A-Wish Australia, at his school, St
Aloysius Primary School in Kingston on Thursday 6 August.
