A new residential development at Rowallan Park is providing specialist services for people with disability.
The Uniting Church Kingston development features 30 residential dwellings, including, specifically for up to 12 people with disability, a four-bedroom group home and six units.
As Minister for Human Services, it was pleasing to visit the site today and see the great new facilities that have been developed.
What is particularly impressive is how seven individuals living with disability, along with their families, were involved so positively in the development of Rowallan Park.
This group will be among the first to move into their new homes, with the remaining accommodation filled through Gateway Services and the National Disability Insurance Agency.
Optia Inc has been working in partnership with Uniting Church Kingston on the project and will provide disability support services at Rowallan Park, while the Australian and Tasmanian governments are providing capital and ongoing funding.
