Rather than exploring all options, including talking to the Rudd Labor Government about the continuation of the ATC, by establishing a so-called “transitions team” David Bartlett has confirmed he has given up on the ATC and will force students into his failing Tasmania Tomorrow experiment
It has long been know that David Bartlett and Labor are ideologically opposed to the ATC, but if he really wanted to put students first he wouldn’t be abandoning a successful model and forcing students into a demonstrably failing one.
Sadly, the State Government never gave the ATC the financial opportunities as in Queensland and some other states where they had full access to school funding, user choice and Productivity Placements.
Once again with David Bartlett, it’s about himself and his Tasmania Tomorrow experiment, rather than about the students.
I trust the students will be given the option of going to Launceston College as well as the Polytechnic.
