I am writing to update you on how the situation is unfolding in Europe. If you have already donated, thank you so much for your support.

More than 380,000 people have arrived in Europe as of yesterday, most of them coming in boats across the Mediterranean Sea. More than 2,700 people have drowned or gone missing during these perilous journeys. Refugees are risking their lives to reach Europe.

The majority of these families are fleeing from conflict in Syria. They arrive hungry and exhausted and then push on through Europe, many of them travelling on foot with small children in tow, sleeping out in the open for days on end.
