Today’s NAB Business Survey once again shows that under the Hodgman Liberal Government the State is heading in the right direction, with business confidence and business conditions by far the highest in the country.
Tasmania’s business confidence is at +12, far exceeding the national average of +1 and triple the rate of the next highest States Queensland and New South Wales.
We are also leading the country on business conditions at double the Australian average, which is reflected in the economy with 4,500 new jobs created since the election, retail trade at record highs and a booming construction sector.
Both of these figures show that our Plan for Tasmania is working. We know there is still a lot of work to be done and that’s why we are building on this momentum and investing $315 million into a jobs creation package and $1.8 billion on infrastructure.
