You are cordially invited to D&G’s Gay Wedding

In response to Eric Abetz’s recent comment: “Not all gay men want to get married, Dolce and Gabbana never got married”, Tasmania’s own D&G are staging a wedding performance
outside the Senator’s office at 12pm on Wednesday 26 August, 2015. Everybody is welcome to come along and join in the fun.

Event details:

Date and time: 12pm on 26Th August, 12pm
Where: Highbury House, 136 Davey Street, Hobart

Representatives from Amnesty International’s Queer Network of Tasmania, UTAS Queer Collective, and local LGBTIQ supporters will all be in attendance. The mock ceremony will be performed by local comedian Anna Kidd. Senator Abetz and his staff are also welcome to attend.

“We will gather together tomorrow to join together Dave and Gavin, demonstrate our love for one another, and most importantly the love of equality before the eyes of the law.” said Trine Deans, the convenor of the Amnesty International Tasmanian Queer Network

“With comments like Senator Abetz’s typecasting the gay community this event is designed to remind the Senator of all the love and joy a wedding can bring.”

“Dave and Gavin want to remind our Government, including Senator Abetz, that the majority of Australian’s support marriage equality.” Trine Deans stated. “It’s time to end discrimination against people based on who they love.”

“Senator Abetz we ask you to let love and equality win.”
