As part of this rally, attendees will form a human banner will each deliver a copy of the Open Letter to the Vice Chancellors Office. Fossil Free UTAS expects a large queue to form outside the Vice Chancellors Office, which will send a clear message that students from UTAS will not continue to support investments in new coal projects and other fossil fuel industries.
This will be the largest demonstration yet for Fossil Free UTAS and we expect at least one hundred attendees.
“Fossil Free UTAS is a member group of 350.org a global grassroots that asks universities and public institutions to immediately freeze any new investments in fossil fuel companies and withdraw their direct and indirect investments in the fossil fuel industry.”

“Other major successes internationally include the University of Washington’s decision to remove direct funding from coal industries and the Norwegian Government Pension Fund’s decision to divest billions from coal companies, we are asking UTAS to join the movement. “
