Labor Leader Bryan Green has welcomed the agreement between the Port of Melbourne and stevedoring company DP World.

“It’s important that Tasmanian exporters understand what the future looks like and this is a step in the right direction,” Mr Green said.

“Labor will continue to work with our colleagues in the Victorian Government to ensure Tasmania exporters are not disadvantaged.

“The Liberal Government originally claimed that legislation would protect exporters before having to embarrassingly backtrack.

“The Government is right to welcome the DP World agreement, but what is it doing to support fresh freight exporters who are concerned about capacity?”
