Liberals fall well short of jobs target
The performance of the Liberal Government’s small business bonus has put a dark cloud over its ability to predict job creation.
Shadow Treasurer Scott Bacon said the Liberals have broken a commitment to create 2000 new jobs in the small business sector.
“The small business bonus has only been taken up 360 times, way short of the Liberals promise of 2000 over 12 months,” Mr Bacon said.
“Labor supports backing small business but an 18% result is pretty disappointing by anyone’s standards.
“It brings into question other Liberal promises around jobs, including the 8000 predicted to flow from spending in the budget.
“The small business policy proves that you can’t just pluck a number of jobs from thin air and expect it to happen.
“The Liberals have been caught out wildly exaggerating their ability to create new jobs.”
