Ionata Digital a sign of jobs growth
The Liberal Government has a long-term Plan and at the centre of this is creating jobs.
It is clear that policies like the Small Business Jobs Bonus, offering $1,000 for every new position, is having a positive impact as it has encouraged the creation of 360 new jobs.
IT business Ionata Digital is just one of the many Tasmanian businesses to take advantage of this policy, as they hire more staff to meet growing demand.
The web and app development agency has hired three additional staff since August to take their total workforce to 10. Ionata is growing to meet demand from a wide range of industries including aquaculture, education, public transport and local government.
Since coming to government the economic indicators have swung back in the right direction, a clear sign that our Plan is working.
More than 4,500 jobs have been created since March 2014, the unemployment rate has dropped to 6.7 per cent, a 0.8 per cent improvement, and the gap between the state and national unemployment rate is narrowing.
Business confidence is the highest in the nation and Tasmanians are reaching into their pockets with confidence; building approvals are up by almost 40 per cent and retail trade is at a record high.
While these are encouraging signs, we understand that there is still a lot of work ahead and we are committed to getting it done.
