The biggest ever Hobart Make-A-Wish Ball will be held on Saturday night with more than 560 guests in attendance.
Saturday night’s “Enchanted Garden” themed ball is an annual fixture in the Hobart social calendar, with all proceeds going to Make-A-Wish Australia.
The Hobart community supports the event by providing donations for the live and silent auction, ensuring the event raises much needed funds to grant the wishes of children with life threatening illnesses.
Robyn Moore, national patron of Make-A-Wish Australia, will MC the night, with local real estate identity Daniel ten Broeke conducting the live auction.
Ms Moore has been involved with Make-A-Wish for past 21 years and MC’s the event each year. She considers it the highlight of her speaking calendar each year: “I love sharing Make-A-Wish stories with audiences across the country – but the Hobart Make-A-Wish Ball is a celebration of our Community Spirit and every year we all experience something quite magical and “Extraordinary” which reminds us of what really matters in life!”
The event – which usually attracts 500 guests annually – was sold out a month ago. “This year, people were so keen to attend that, despite having sold out, we moved heaven and earth to squeeze a couple more in!” says Amanda Street, event organiser and Make-A-Wish Hobart vice president “We’re so overwhelmed by the support of the community and can’t wait to wow our guests with an amazing night on Saturday.”
This year’s theme promises a magical night for guests, with atmospheric décor and a number of entertainment options lined up.
“We pride ourselves on holding a ball that connects with the community and provides guests with not only a memorable evening but also the opportunity to learn more about the work we do,” adds Amanda Street.
