The Media Peace Awards is a prestigious National Awards Program that recognises those journalists, producers and editors, who seek to promote understanding and awareness about humanitarian and social justice issues in our society and stimulate public debate. Journalists and producers whose work has appeared in the Australian media between 2 September 2014 and 4 September 2015 are encouraged to nominate now.

Nominations opened Wednesday 1 July and close on Monday 4 September 2015. Enter before July 31 for the early bird rate!

• Best Print
– News
– Feature
• Best Photojournalism
• Best Radio
– News (less than 10 minutes)
– Documentary (more than 10 minutes)
• Best Television
– News/Current Affairs (less than 20 minutes)
– Feature/Documentary (more than 20 minutes)
• Best Online

Special Award Categories –
• Promotion of Indigenous Recognition
• Promotion of Multicultural Issues (sponsored by the Australian Multicultural Foundation)
• Promotion of Positive Images of the Older Person
• Promotion of Women’s Rights and Issues (sponsored by the Office of Women’s Affairs)
• Promotion of Children’s Rights and Issues
• *NEW* Promotion of Disability Rights and Issues
• *NEW* Promotion of Climate Change Issues

Winners of the Media Peace Awards 2015 will be announced at the Awards Presentation Dinner to be held at the ANZ Pavilion in Melbourne, on Friday 23 October.
