Qantas Contact Centre Celebrates 15th Birthday

Posted on

The Liberal Government is committed to growing the economy and creating jobs.

Today, we celebrate the Tasmanian Qantas Contact Centre’s 15th birthday and toast to a bright future at the facility and job security for its hundreds of workers.

Last year we negotiated an agreement with Qantas to consolidate its Australian contact centres in Tasmania, securing 246 local jobs and creating further opportunities for growth.

It is also important to note the new workers who have joined the ranks since Qantas reaffirmed its commitment to Tasmania, with 60 new recruits recently joining the workforce.

We also welcome an initial 11 workers who are relocating to Hobart from interstate, and look forward to welcoming more as the Melbourne and Brisbane call centres wind down over the next 18-months.

The Liberal Government is getting on with the job of delivering our long-term Plan to grow the economy and create jobs.
