The Devonport Regional Gallery received 52 photographs from residents and visitors on the North West Coast for PORTAL, the community photography project which captured 24 hours of life on the North West Coast of Tasmania.

Participants shared one photograph from their day in the North West Coast of Tasmania on Saturday 3 January 2015 (capture day), with all photographs featuring in the public exhibition between 23 January and 1 February 2015.

The photographs will be displayed in the windows of 18 Rooke Street, Devonport, which people may be familiar with as the previous residency of Medicare. The venue has been provided in-kind courtesy of Chas Kelly Transport.

“We are immensely pleased with the response received for PORTAL, and impressed by the variety of subjects and quality of the photographs submitted. This unique project exposes myriad experiences and things we enjoy, cherish and love on the North West coast. We have had some amazing support from our local business community, including SeaFM, Devonport Harvey Norman Photo Centre and Chas Kelly Transport.” – Dianne Sheehan, Education & Public Programs Officer, Devonport Regional Gallery
