Michelle O’Byrne must end Labor’s budget hypocrisy
The Government was elected to fix the budget mess and that is exactly what we are doing. It’s time Ms O’Byrne put up or shut up.
Where would Ms O’Byrne make the savings needed to ensure we can afford to fund education into the future? Or does Ms O’Byrne believe that we should continue to live on the credit card, spend more than we can afford and compromise our education system into the future? Does Labor even have an education policy?
The Government’s pay freeze proposal would have meant that no additional savings would have to be made in the education budget, yet Ms O’Byrne and the Labor Party fought tooth and nail against it.
We made a commitment to Tasmanians to fix the budget mess and that is exactly what we are doing.
Labor has no credibility on this issue until they stop their whingeing, whining and carping from the sidelines and put forward a credible alternative.
