AEU Tasmanian Branch President, Terry Polglase, said:
“Teachers and parents are angry and frustrated at Premier Will Hodgman’s broken promises and cuts to education.”
“It is very disappointing that Premier Will Hodgman has proven himself never to have been serious about negotiations on a pay freeze and instead simply said ‘time is up’.”
“The AEU remains ready to negotiate with Premier Will Hodgman at any time. But it must be remembered that it was his Government that took the option of a pay freeze off the table.”
“Premier Will Hodgman went to the election promising ‘Gonski plus’, no cuts in schools, and no sacking teachers and he must now deliver on that.”
