Save the Tarkine has saluted the courage and integrity of Geoff Coles, former regional manager Parks and Wildlife Service – North West Coast in his decision to retire and speak out against the Tasmanian Government’s reprehensible decision to reopen off road vehicle tracks through sensitive Aboriginal heritage sites in a National Heritage listed area of the Tarkine (tarkayna).

“I have had the pleasure of working with Geoff on issues related to the Tarkine over a number of years, and I would like to thank Geoff for his service to the protection of this important area over his career”, said Save the Tarkine Campaign Coordinator, Scott Jordan.

“I have always found Geoff to be a passionate professional who displays the utmost integrity, and it is a sign of his integrity that he has chosen to retire and speak out on this issue.”

“Geoff’s departure and his revelations he has made ”.

Geoff Coles published an article on Tasmanian Times on Thursday, exposing the mistruths behind the decision to re-open off road vehicle tracks in the Tarkine. The article can be viewed at oldtt.pixelkey.biz/index.php?/weblog/article/the-tragedy-of-the-commons/
