New Boarding Ramp Makes Flying Easier for People with Disability

Posted on

A new boarding ramp at the Hobart Airport will give people with disability easier access to flights.

QantasLink is to be commended for developing a ramp for boarding its Boeing 717 jets that service Hobart from Sydney and Melbourne.

Whereas larger airports tend to have air bridges linking aircraft to terminals, the use of stairs at Hobart means that passengers in wheelchairs, or with a mobility-impairing disability, require special assistance to board and disembark.

The new ramp, which entered service recently, allows these passengers to board unassisted.

This is a great initiative of QantasLink that will make flying easier for Tasmanians, and visitors to our State, with disability.
