The Independent Member for Denison, Andrew Wilkie, said the NBN’s latest work schedule leaves much of the Denison electorate in the dark about when the rollout will reach their suburb.
“The news today is welcome but there is still no rollout plan in place for much of Denison including most of the northern suburbs, lower Sandy Bay and Taroona,’’ Mr Wilkie said.
“The rollout is progressing at a glacial pace and people are being left with no idea about when they will be connected because the dates are either vague or not specified at all.
“People are crying out for a definitive announcement about the NBN and this isn’t it.
“What’s more is that more and more people are going to be connected with an inferior technology (fibre to the node) as opposed to the original fibre to the premises plan.
“NBN Co and the Federal Government would like us to believe that today’s update on the rollout is great news. It’s not.’’
