Liberals preparing to dodge scrutiny again

Posted on

The Liberal Government continues to make an art form of dodging scrutiny, with revelations it is preparing to drop another major report under the cover of Government Business Enterprise hearings.

The Government is planning to release its first Budget update tomorrow, when all eyes will be on the performance of government businesses.

The Liberals are also conspiring to drop TT-Line’s long awaited new business case tomorrow.

Labor Shadow Treasurer Scott Bacon said Tasmanians would see through the Liberal Government’s cynical politics.

“This is an orchestrated strategy from the Liberals to dodge scrutiny and avoid the tough questions,” Mr Bacon said.

“The September Quarterly Report is expected to show that the Government’s budget strategy is failing miserably, as a result of its refusal to negotiate with its workforce.

“The Liberal Government is well and truly on the nose but rather than fronting up to respond to criticism, it is instead trying to run away from scrutiny.”
