Ferguson obliged to provide all the details
Following Michael Ferguson’s long awaited decision over the future of the Royal Hobart Hospital, he now must commit to complete transparency.
Shadow Health Minister Rebecca White said after an eight month delay and million dollar taskforce, the Government has a responsibility to provide all the details.
“Michael Ferguson must release all the information relating to the future of the redevelopment and why the CenoTas proposal was rejected,” Ms White said.
“Did the Liberal Government properly assess the CenoTas proposal or was it dismissed without consideration?
“How did the cost of building on a new site compare to the redevelopment?
“Michael Ferguson should use the two weeks leading up to Christmas to thoroughly explain his position.
“The public has a right to be fully informed about the future of hospital services, while the developers deserve to know if their project was properly considered.
“Labor understands the Liberal Government was facing a difficult decision between continuing the redevelopment and taking on a new project, but that’s not an excuse for secrecy.”
