Justice Action is meeting with the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Health, Mr Anand Grover, who is on an official visit to Australia. This will happen in Sydney on Monday 30 November at 2.30 as part of an NGO consultation.
He has indicated that during his visit he intends to focus on three key areas – Indigenous health, migrant health and the health of people in detention – prisoners, and people in mental health, juvenile justice and immigration institutions.
We will to put specific recommendations for him to make at the end of his visit to Australia. He relies significantly on the input of NGOs.
The Human Rights and Law Resource Centre http://www.hrlrc.org.au/ prepared a briefing paper for the Special Rapporteur at his request. It is downloadable at: http://tinyurl.com/ylgpq9q
